Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer at an automotive supplier in Battle Creek, MI.   A successful candidate will be high energy, driven, resourceful and a problem solver. The position is primarily first shift but includes support of other shifts. 
Salary range is $60-90k

Responsibilities Include:
  • Work with launch team to ensure that all launch deliverables are completed on time and critical issues are identified and resolved timely.
  • Responsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all quality systems required within their area of responsibility. 
  • Work with customers, suppliers (external and internal), Launch personnel, and Manufacturing staff.
  • Lead APQP and PPAP activities for both internal and external suppliers including DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans & Track Supplier PPAP readiness and approval
  • Maintenance of APQP documentation and support of the corrective action process are primary tasks. 
  • Preparation and submission of customer required documentation and construction of 8D problem solving responses.
  • Supporting  in  certification  audits  and  promoting  safety  in  the  manufacturing  facility
  • Manage Gaging needs and Fixture design, on-time build and prove-out (passing Gage R/R)
  • Responsibility for customer notifications related to quality or delivery issues, utilizing all applicable customer and internal specific systems

Qualifications Needed:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Science or related
3+ years of experience in quality manufacturing
IATF certification, preferred.
Travel required up to 20%
