Job Description

Are you a recent graduate looking for a job as a Auto CAD  Engineer? Do you have experience with CAD/CAM and 3D CAD?  E xperience in  Die Cast or Injection Mold a plus. We are looking for a Tooling Engineer,  for a fast-growing, automotive supplier located in Shelbyville, Indiana.   This is a Direct Hire-Permanent Placement + Benefits on Day 1 upon Hiring!
Salary: $65, 000.00 - $80, 000.00 per year

The Tooling Design Engineers provide design, engineering, and production support to all die cast tooling and maintenance issues while striving to achieve lowest cost and highest quality tooling.

Responsibilities Include:
Understand and implement design standard practices for new programs and ECR updates.
Control tooling design files (2D/3D) from die vendors and provide designs to the internal cross functional team.
Ensure die-cast tooling is designed, built, and maintained to meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations.
Work with outside vendors to procure, repair, or modify die-cast tooling design while following management systems.
Work with die maintenance to develop inventory of spare parts.
Communicate with internal or external vendors to assure that DMR & ECR requirements are understood and completed accurately.
Develop system to ensure objective quality, evidence of all repair work.
Support launch teams in development of APQP documents related to die-cast tooling.
Support estimating process when requested.

Qualifications Include:
4-year technical degree; or 2-year technical degree and 1 years experience; or 2 years experience
Understanding of drawings using GD&T and reviewing technical standards
Moderate knowledge of CAD Software (Siemens NX strongly preferred)
Focus on CAD/CAM 
Design of Injection (cast or plastics) tooling preferred
Basic operational knowledge of computer programs and various software, such as Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
