Maintenance Supervisors-World Class Automotive Supplier


NEW Direct Hire positions with a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. We now have openings for 2nd & 3rd Shift Maintenance Supervisors.  


Shifts: 
2nd shift   3pm-11pm
3rd shift    11pm-7am

Keys to the position:
Experienced Department Manager/Supervisor with track record of improving Plant Metrics
Experience with robotics and automation and machining


Summary of Responsibilities


To provide maintenance support to all other departments to ensure customer schedules and projects are completed timely. Overall management of the Maintenance Department, 15-30 Direct Reports across all 3 shifts


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible and accountable for all three shifts of maintenance activities
  • Manage all facility activities and personnel reporting to this position
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with all internal customers, plant management and team members; Maintain positive team member relations; Listen to issues and concerns and respond within 48 hours
  • Demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfactions
  • Work well with others; build and maintain positive team member relations
  • Prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from management, team members, suppliers and customers
  • Maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact
  • Manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Work flexible hours as needed
  • Personal support for three shifts and weekend production schedules
  • Able to work with and communicate with production, tool room, and Quality personnel in management meetings
  • Work with customers and suppliers
  • Handle multiple priorities and able to meet deadlines
  • Flexible hours and able to work overtime
  • The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as needed on the plant floor, in meetings and with team members, suppliers, management and customers


Knowledge 
  • MS-Office  computer   navigation knowledge
    • Enter information about production runs into computer   program (data entry)  
    • Record and maintain production logs

  • Knowledge of departmental processes and procedures to include:
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • Mechanical power transmission
    • Combustion gas train 
    • HVAC
    • Electrical systems and electronics
    • Gas, MIG and TIG welding
    • Robotics
    • Schematics and blueprint reading
    • OSHA regulations and National Electrical Code
    • Preventive Maintenance procedures
    • DOL Apprenticeship program

Skills
  • Be decisive and always setting a good example, maintain a positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent equipment diagnostic skills


Education and Experience Required
  • High school diploma with Journeyman status
  • Preferably in Millwright, Electrical Journeyman status
  • Knowledge of departmental processes and procedures
  • Supervision training preferred
  • Quality control and SPC


Work Environment
  • Plant environment. The plant floor is characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise and considerable tow motor traffic
